Jhene Aiko sat down and spoke with BBC Radio 1Xtra for an interview. During the interview, the singer spoke about her love life and her past/present relationships.
When speaking about her relationship with Big Sean, Jhene said the following:
“We became friends the year that my brother passed. I had just met him and we worked on ‘Beware’ and ‘I’m Gonna Be.’ He wanted to take me out on a date. I had a boyfriend, but I still went…just as a friend. I had never been courtside to a game and he’s cool. I told my boyfriend ‘I’m gonna go to this game.,” said Jhene Aiko.
The singer then revealed that her relationship with her ex ended after she found out he was secretly married. She then spoke about how she and Big Sean eventually got together after that.
“When I came around, I was like, ‘Okay, let’s see what you’re talking about,’ he had a girlfriend. I took too long. I was like, ‘That’s cool. We’re still friends.’ We were performing together still and recording and all that.,” said Jhene.
They definitely put out that album, “TWENTY88,” and the couple would later date and are still currently together. Watch Jhene Aiko’s full interview below:
