Over the weekend filmmakers Ryan Coogler and Ava Duvernay made box office history, History was made when the two African American filmmakers had the films rank number 1 and 2 respectively among viewers.
Coogler’s “Black Panther” maintained its position at number 1 on the box office list, but Duvernay’s latest film, “A Wrinkle In Time” was a close second. “Black Panther” brought in another $44.1 Million at the box office and “A Wrinkle In Time” debuted with an impressive showing of $33.3 Million.
This is the first time in history two African American directors have topped the box office. Congratulations to both Ryan and Ava on the impressive feat.
Lil Pump has been making waves in the music industry after the success of his single “Gucci Gang”. The single helped the teenager earn his first platinum record.
After the success of the single, Lil Pump parted ways with his record company Warner Bros. This was due to Pump signing his contract as a minor and the agreement not being authorized by a guardian.
Good news for Pump fans is he has just signed a new deal with Warner Bros for a estimated $8 Million. That’s more money than his previous deal with the label. Let’s hope things work out better for all parties this go around.
Comedian Marlon Wayans has teamed up with Netflix to release his new comedy special. Titled “Woke-Ish,” the special showcases Wayans in rare form while he performs live.
The special is scheduled to debut on February 27, 2018. Marlon Wayans will deliver raw commentary on racism, age-appropriate rap rhymes and gay rights during the special.
“Woke-Ish” will also showcase Wayans as he offers his opinions on raising kids and the Kardashians. Watch the full trailer below:

The album moved 154, 000 album units it’s first week. 52, 000 of the album sales were from traditional albums.
The movie also topped box offices over the weekend. “Black Panther” grossed over $218 million domestically.
Los Angeles Lakers Rookie Lonzo Ball has teamed up with Big Baller Brand to release his latest album. “Born 2 Ball” is Lonzo’s first release after signing to the Lakers.
The album features tracks such as “Get Off,” “Super Saiyan,” and “Money Talks.” The album also features “Lavar,” a tribute track to basketball players father.

Coogler breaks down the making of “Black Panther” for the hosts. He also discusses black girl power and speaks about his visit to Africa before making the film.
He also would talk about what sparked his vision to create the film a certain way. Before closing the interview he would also talk about the process of building Wakanda.
